About our District
Fire
District 5 serves a population of approximately 44,000 over an area
measuring 54 square miles, which is located Southeast of the Kitsap
County Line and Northwest of the Narrows Bridge. The fire
district also protects the City of Gig Harbor. District 5 has
9 response stations in addition to a Headquarters/Training facility
and maintenance shop. Four stations are staffed 24 hours a
day. The four staffed station provide Emergency Medical and
Fire Suppression services. (Go to Station

The four staffed stations are
supplemented by the other 5 volunteer/resident stations.
(See Staffing Levels.) Each station is also
equipped with a public emergency phone. The five volunteer
stations are staffed by 2-4 volunteer resident firefighters and
between 6-12 home based volunteers.
The Headquarters, Training Facility,
Emergency Operations Center has meeting rooms available for
community use. Call 253-851-3111 to reserve your meeting
space.
Gig Harbor Fire & Medic One has set
standards for response times to meet state law. If you want
