About our District

Fire District 5 serves a population of approximately 44,000 over an area measuring 54 square miles, which is located Southeast of the Kitsap County Line and Northwest of the Narrows Bridge.  The fire district also protects the City of Gig Harbor.  District 5 has 9 response stations in addition to a Headquarters/Training facility and maintenance shop.  Three stations are staffed 24 hours a day.  The three staffed station provide Emergency Medical and Fire Suppression services. The three staffed stations are supplemented by the other 6 volunteer/resident stations. (See Staffing Levels.)   Each station is also equipped with a public emergency phone.  The six volunteer stations are staffed by 2-4 volunteer resident firefighters and between 6-12 home based volunteers.
