Preschool Safety Programs

The Learn Not To Burn Preschool Program, which Pierce County Fire District 5 purchases from the National Fire Protection Association, is available to all local preschools and day cares at no cost. The teachers are encouraged to teach the first 7 fire safety behaviors and when they have completed them are to call the fire department to set up a time for the firefighter to come and teach lesson #8 – "Recognize the Firefighter as a Helper". A fire engine and crew come to the preschool or day care and provide a lesson review, don their gear and give a tour of the fire engine. To learn more about the Learn Not To Burn Preschool Program go to the National Fire Protection Association web site.
