Built in 1987, Station 59 is located at 3828 62^nd Ave. N.W. across from Artondale Elementary School. Station 59 is a 24 hour staffed station and is staffed with an engine company and a medic unit. This station has 3820 sq. ft. of living space and an apparatus floor of 2470 sq. ft. The station has a training room with seating up to 32 people and a drill ground located behind the building of 47,310 sq. ft. The station is powered by a 30 kw. Diesel genset with a built in 60 gallon fuel tank. The station is built on a concrete slab. The exterior walls of the apparatus floor, like the rest, are 8" poured cement blocks and the exterior walls for the rest of the building are 2x6 on 16" centers with 5/8" sheathing and covered with composition shingles. The station is also equipped with a fire alarm system and a fire sprinkler system.
