About Us
Gig Harbor Fire & Medic One is a progressive all-risk fire department committed to exceptional service. The department is made up of ninety-eight full time employees and forty-five volunteers that serve a rapidly growing community of 45,000 residents, responding to 4,800 alarms last year. In addition to fire response, the department has an exceptional Medical Division that treats and transports both ALS and BLS patients. The department also has Special Ops, Hazmat, and Wildland Teams. Lastly, we are committed to exceptional training, and are in the process of completing a 20 acre training complex – which includes a 6 story training tower with live-fire training props.The community we serve is located on a 54 square mile peninsula in beautiful Gig Harbor, Washington.
