CPR & First Aid Classes

 

The following courses are offered by the University Place Fire Department throughout the year.

CPR for family & friends

Heart saver/Adult CPR Course

Standard First Aid & CPR

These courses are held at the University Place Fire Department located at 3631 74th Ave W. All courses are subject to cancellation if the class minimum of 6 people is not met

 

CPR for Family & Friends ( Adult, CPR Child, Infant)

-This class is designed for all persons who want to learn fescue skills to help family and friends. A " participation" card is earned in this course.

-One person, adult, child, and infant CPR with airway management is taught. First aid for the choking, prevention, signs/symptoms of heart attack and stroke and the chain of survival are also covered.

-Class is usually held on the first Wednesday of every month. This is a three hour course held from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm.

-Class is $10.00 and pre-registration /pre-payment is required.

-You will receive a participation card and CPR for Family and Friends book.

 

Heart saver/ Adult CPR

-This class is designed for those required to obtain a " Course completion" or "Certification" card for the workplace.

-One person, adult CPR with airway management is taught. First aid for choking, signs/symptoms of heart attack and stroke are also covered. All students will practice administering of CPR on an adult training manikin. This course meets Labor and Industries and Department of social Health Services Standards. It does not meet the Heath Care Provider requirements. Infant/child procedures are not covered.

-A written & skills examination is a required part of this course.

-Class is usually held three times a year on a Wednesday, This is a three hour course held from 6:00- 9:00 pm

-Class is $20.00 and pre-registration/pre-payment is required

-Cards are recognized for 2 years.

 

First Aid & CPR

- One person, adult, child and infant CPR with airway management, first aid for choking, control of bleeding, splinting, bandaging, first aid for burns, sprains, strains, poison control, etc. This course meets Labor and Industries and Department of Social and Health Services Standards.

-Class is offered 2 times during the year on Saturdays. This is and 8-Hour class held from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm

-Pre-registration and pre-payment are required. Cost: $30.00

-Cards are recognized for 2 years.
